Strong Start

Meeting Ix. Deep booming voice. It wants the characters to act as its agents to destroy Vandekhul and return the cavern back to its primordial state from half a million years ago.

Secrets and Clues

  • Ix has lived beneath Vandekhul for half a million years. So many civilizations have risen and fallen but the natural state of the cavern is primordial. Life. Just life.
  • Undead have proven difficult to manipulate. Intelligent undead in particular are problematic for Ix. The more powerful they are, the more difficult to manipulate.
  • The Emperor is coming to Vandekhul. Ix can feel him coming.
  • The characters must eliminate the most powerful undead leaders, sending the rest into chaos. This list includes the High Priestess Ianku, Duke Moretto, High Priest Radomir Marrowblight, Smiling Margarite, and the former general. The rest will fall in line.
  • Duke Moretto has a scepter in his possession, this must be given to Ix. He uses it to hold command over the darakhul.
  • A huge entity lurks in submerged tunnels beneath the city. Ix can contact it. Ix can awaken it but its mind is too chaotic to control. It answers to gods beyond Ix's views.
  • Ix has spies with the duke and the emperor. Unfortunately, the Duke's paranoia has sent Ix's spy outside. He doesn't know what is going on in the Bone Cathedral.
  • Ix knows a way outside of the city, through tunnels in his lair that allows for teleportation and escape.
  • The high priestess wants to see the world burn but she secretly hopes to make Vandekhul a bastion for the vampires of Morgau.
  • The Grim Harvest has tracked the characters into the sewers. They are close by but Ix can help.
